Goresbrook’s Sunday League side raced to an exciting 7 wicket win over Bardoli at the M & B Sports Ground on Sunday. Visiting skipper Zak Bham won the toss and elected to bat and was rueing his decision when ‘Brook’s attack quickly gained the upper hand. Left armer Pawanpreet Singh produced a nap hand claiming 5 for 21 from seven excellent overs. Jack Gibson caught the eye bagging a brace of scalps and fellow teenagers Rohaan Khan and Siraj Zafar each snared a victim as Bardoli were reduced to 137 all out.
After tea ‘Brook made light work of their target. Ted Ivory started proceedings with a quickfire 24 before some aggressive hitting from Afzal Hussain (50 not) and home captain Shane Barwick (63 not) produced a flurry of boundaries, to see the hosts home to a comfortable seven wicket victory.
Goresbrook 1st 144 for 3 in 17.5 overs (18 points) beat Bardoli 137 all out for 9 in 28.3 overs (1 point) by 7 wickets
