U11's given a lesson in batting

Goresbrook U11's made the trip to North Stifford Rec on Friday and came home having been given a lesson in batting.
Belhus' bowling attack had real depth but some poor shot selection and some confused running lead to a well below par score of 63 for 8 from their allotted 20 overs, 30 extras being the top scorer and with only 11 from Alfie Atkins, 9 from Ted Ivory and 6* from Pawan Singh emerging with any credit from the innings.
Belhus knocked off the runs in 10.4 overs although 3 wickets in the space of 8 balls for George Sleight and Matthew Elsom along with the run out of the dangerous looking Henry, who had raced to 18, by Pawan Singhs throw from the deep gave Brook a glimmer of hope.
However Belhus' top order continued to score freely and the game was up. With the crunch Havering League game against Hornchurch to follow on Sunday morning it was imperative that this group of lads learnt the value of keeping their wicket intact.
