Goresbrook won the toss and decided to bat in the friendly fixture against Newham. Billy Parnell got the home side off to a good start with a solid knock of 12. Then the fireworks started with Alfie Boland hitting 31 (retired) including two 4's. He was well supported by Danny Gillham who scored 29 not out with three 4's, Goresbrook finishing 148 for 3. After the break Goresbrook's bowling got off to a great start with Sam Wood taking the wicket of Abdul in the second over. Goresbrook's bowling and fielding was excellent, restricting Newham to 127 for 3, with Wood ending up with figures of 2 for 10. The other wicket came from a run out by Jayden Simmonds, leaving Goresbrook winners by 21 runs.
