U13's surge to victory
Goresbrook u13's gave a powerful display against Ardleigh Green at Central Park on Wednesday evening.
Batting first, Brook surged to an impressive 143-1 from their 20 overs as Phil Thoufick, Albie Smith and John Nicholls all retired. Strong stroke play, good running and a smattering of extras all contributed to Brook's total.
In the home reply there was only one double figure contribution as Brook's bowlers turned the screw. Freddie Atkins led the way with 2-2, ably assisted by Charlotte Waters with 2-5 and Albie Smith with 2-4. There were also wickets for Phil Thoufick and Archie Dias, run outs from Grace Wood and Freddie Atkins and catches from John Nicholls, Rahad Hussain, Freddie Atkins and Archie Dias.
The only downside of the performance was that 3 chances were spilled in the field.
Next up for the u13's is a home game against Upminster next Wednesday.
