Bobby Granger span the Goresbrook U15 side to a comfortable victory over Oakfield Parkonians on Bank Holiday Monday. The left arm off spinner curtailed Park's response before it had even begun with a brace in his first over.
Brook had earlier scored 117-5 with Kumar (18) and Atkins (22) getting the Dagenham outfit off to a good start. Bist played well for his 16 before Gillham was dismissed by an excellent catch at mid on. Captain Parnell accelerated the scoring with a majestic 28 ball 32 before retiring before a boundary apiece from Smith and Granger pushed the score on to 117.
Khondakar's opening over softened up the Parks before Granger ripped through Park's top order. Jaydeep was his first victim, bowled with a ball that ripped round the back of the batsmans legs. Ryan followed with Granger taking a stunning catch off his own bowling.
Khondakar grabbed a wicket for himself catching Romit before Granger saw off Harman with a solid catch by Smith at backward square leg. Atkins was next to take a catch, flinging himself high at cover to dismiss Adnan to give Granger his career best figures. At 16-5 the game was effectively done so Parnell rotated his bowlers allowing Arafat and Smith to get a brace each and Thoufick the one.
