Goresbrook batted first in this Havering League encounter at the Annex Ground on Wednesday where Jack Stead came back into form with a bang. The 15 year old struck an unbeaten 50 from 44 balls against Rainham, the place where he actually lives, so it made it all the sweeter. His knock included 8 boundaries. Aaron Scott (14) and Billy Smith (13) were the other batsmen in double figures. 13 year old Dominic Gurden ended on 8 not out as 'Brook racked up 105 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Rainham battled hard but were never going to get anywhere near the target required. Dominic Gurden (1 for 16), Billy Smith (1 for 7), Jack Sleight (1 for 6) and Shane Barwick (1 for 5) were the wicket takers, as the home side cruised to a comfortable 43 run victory.
