Goresbrook 135 for 3 beat Wanstead 30 all out by 105 runs

Goresbrook’s captain for the day Ben Irving won the toss, the first toss 'Brook had won in seven games and decided to bat first in this 20 over friendly.' Brook changed round their order to try and give some more players a chance to impress and get into form and they did not disappoint. Jack Stead fell early for 2 but skipper Ben Irving joined Stuart Greaves and the pair started to score freely. Greaves was run out for 9, however Aaron Scott hit a quick-fire 15, his best score for the colts so far. Ben Irving retired on a fine 33, his knock included five fine boundaries. Ausman Ginai then came in and was in superb nick, he struck a quite majestic 30 before he had to retire also, hitting the boundary rope on five occasions. Bobby Gaymer hit 16 not out at the end of the innings allowing 'Brook to post a decent 135 for 3 in their allotted over’s.

In reply, Irving decided to open up with a full spin attack, and it was a great decision. Shane Barwick took 2 for 5 from his 4 overs and Callum Shepherd taking a superb 4 for 11 from his four overs. The game was over after the first 8 overs, but 'Brook's other bowlers continued the good work with Greaves taking 1 for 6 and Jack Stead taking 2 for 6, along with a good run out from a Shepherd throw. There were some superb catches taken also with Barwick taking two, one being an absolute cracker. Gaymer took a superb catch on the mid-wicket boundary and there were catches for Irving and Read as 'Brook crushed Wanstead bowling them out for 30, giving a resounding 105 run victory to the away side.
