Home skipper, Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first at Old Brentwood’s Society Sports Ground on Saturday. Juber Rukon struck an impressive 53 to give ‘Brook the ideal fillip. Siraj Zafar contributed an excellent 30 whilst Amir Javid weighed in with 20 to lift the Dagenham outfit to an under par 164 all out. Eid Mohammad proved the pick of the Old Boy’s attack with 5 for 45.

After the tea interval, openers Asad Khan (42) and Shamim (20) made early inroads into the target but captain Sharma’s 3 for 43 restored the home sides hopes of victory. Sayaad Hussain with a plucky unbeaten 22 saw his side over the line for a comfortable three wicket success.
