Brook’s second string made the trip to Horndon on the Hill and after losing the toss, took to the field. Mohd (36), Hutcherson (40), Malhotra (41) and Karunasekara (32) gave the home side the ideal fillip but excellent bowling from Bobby Granger (4 for 52) and skipper Pawanpreet Singh (3 for 35) lifted the visitors back into the match. Some sharp fielding saw the hosts restricted to 203 giving ‘Brook’s batting line up scent of victory.
After the tea interval, excellent knocks from teenagers Jack Gibson (38) and Abdullah Ahmed (23) complemented by a brisk 20 from Kaushik Yelari laid the foundation for the Dagenham side’s reply. An entertaining unbeaten half century from ‘keeper Fahad Zafar almost saw ‘Brook through to an unlikely success but ultimately, they had to settle for a share of the spoils.
Horndon-on-the-Hill 2nd 203 all out from 49.2 Overs (10 points) drew with Goresbrook 2nd 183 for 6 from 45 Overs (7 points)
