Biography

Kurt joined Goresbrook as a Colt in 1999 and after scoring heavily in the 2's became a first team regular by the time he was 17.

A technically correct opening batsman with a couple of strong scoring areas, Kurt has been the mainstay of the first team batting for the last 10 years, racking up 10,000 runs with 3 Sat 1's league and cup tons.

He ascended to the captaincy in 2008 and after handing back over to Richie for the 2009 season, Kurt has skippered the last 5 seasons, lifting the ECCL Premier Division title in 2011 & 2013, the League Cup in 2012 and the TRippon Division 1 crown in 2014.

Kurt found T Rippon Division One attacks very much to his liking, however after scoring 900 runs at 90 (or something like that, most of us got bored when he got to 50), he is looking forward to the challenge of facing some bowlers who can turn the ball and more than one (doff of cap in the direction of Burnham) who can get the ball around his nose.

He used to bowl once upon a time as well.

Little Known Fact: Kurt's ear double is Australian legend Adam Gilchrist, although sadly the Goresbrook faithful will be waiting in vain for our leader to bung a squash ball in his glove and smash 100 off 70 balls.
