Goresbrook’s first eleven were humbled by Woodford Wells when crashing to a nine wicket reversal at May Bakers Sports Ground on Saturday.
Home Skipper, Kane Messenger won the toss and elected to bat but was soon rueing his decision as a succession of batsmen came and went with only Shane Barwick (10) making double figures. The main protagonist of ‘Brook’s downfall was ‘Wells spinner Sangeeth Cooray who bagged a nap hand with the excellent return of 5 for 10. Left arm seamer Robert McNeill supported with 3 for 14 as the hosts were reduced to 47 all out.

The visitors replied before tea knocking off the required total with the loss of only Aayush Aiyar (17) - Daryl Forward securing the consolation wicket. Cooray completed a fine all round display with a confident, unbeaten 28 leading his side home to a comfortable victory.
