Goresbrook fielded 5 debutants in their victory against Harold Wood on Sunday morning.
Liam Elsom lost the toss and was asked to bat, a move that soon paid dividends as he and Lily Nunes added 35 for the loss of just one wicket. There were runs all the way down the order and plenty of not out innings. Maggie Sleight scored her first ever boundary as she helped Goresbrook total 312-5 adjusted under Terriers rules to 287-5.

Wood's reply was soon on the skids as Charlie Trowell nabbed two quick wickets and Liam Elsom another. Then Lily Nunes and Maggie Sleight grabbed one each. Catches for Lily and Charlie wrapped up proceedings nicely but it was pleasing to see how well all the debutants played and the continuing development of those who had never donned whites before the season began.
