U11's win at Hylands Park.

Goresbrook U11's gave an accomplished all round performance in their Terriers fixture against Hornchurch Athletic on Thursday evening.
Missing skipper Liam Elsom through illness, Charlie Collins stepped into the breach and lead his troops to an impressive 78 run victory.
After losing the toss and being inserted Brook mustered runs right the way down the order as they hit 351-7, adjusted under Terriers rules to 316. What was pleasing was the good running between the wickets and circumspect shots against some good bowling.
The stand out knocks were from Grace Wood with 21* Harry Ivory and Sriraman Sri who both hit 13* and Freddie Atkins 16 who smacked 3 consecutive boundaries in the final over. However all the players called well and ran confidently between the wickets and helped Brook up to their ultimate healthy total.
Grace Wood continued her fine game with 3 run outs, 2 of them from direct spin and throws, and 2 wickets setting an example that the rest of the team followed. There were also wickets for Sri, Charlie Trowell, who did not concede a run in his 2 overs, Vajran, Harry and 3 of the best from Ben Atkins including 2 in 2 that helped knock 70 runs off the total of the hosts. Athletic finished on 308-14 adjusted to 238.
It was a pleasure to see the youngsters enjoying their cricket, encouraging each other and applauding the opposition and one hopes that this is a trend that will continue in next Thursday's game away at Gidea Park and Romford.
