Gidea Park & Romford won the toss and put Goresbrook into bat on a damp wicket. The Goresbrook innings got off to a good start with opening batsman Danny Gillham, who has been in prolific form all season, hitting 14 not out including two 4's. Tahmid Khondkar hit an impressive 14 which included two 4's also. The Goresbrook innings finished with a flourish from Alfie Boland who hit a quick 15 not out with three 4's, to leave Goresbrook on 291 for 6 under Terriers rules. The Under 11s bowling has been exceptional all season and yet again they did not disappoint, leaving the GP&R batsmen in all sorts of trouble, taking 11 wickets in 11.2 overs before rain intervened. The main wicket taker was 7 year old Ted Ivory who took 4 wickets for 6 runs from his 2 overs. He was well supported by George Smith (2 for 2 off 1 over), Khondkar 2 for 0 off 2 overs) and Frankie Boland (7 for 2 off 2 overs). There was also a run out by Henry Sleight, to leave Gidea Park on 187 before the heavens opened and the game was stopped.
