Goresbrook Under 15s eased to victory against Gidea Park & Romford on Friday night.
Having lost the toss and been put into the field Jones and Boland opened the bowling for Brook and couldnt dismiss either Romford opener. Jordan Barwick came on as first change and immediately took the wicket of Brett as Jones took a fine catch at long on. Ahmed, Brown and Risharmer all retired for the hosts on 30+ scores as Frankie Boland, Barwick and Abdullah strayed.
Thoufick bowled tidily for no return and Jones came back to dismiss Little last ball of the innings for 114.
Brook set about the revised chase of 118 set under the Pauling/Gillham/Gidea Park method with Kumar and Boland and the pair at first were bogged down by Brett and Ahmed. As the bowlers were rotated Kumar and Boland started to attack and took a liking to Fuzan, Rishamer and Brown before knocking 16 off a single Hogg over. Boland retired on 30no from 31 balls while Kumar retired on 30no from 34 balls.
Parnell and Grainger looked to push the scoring on but Parnell was bamboozled by a slower delivery from Brown while Granger was undone by the returning Brett. Jones came in and hammered 29 from 20 balls while Gillham scored a steady seven as the pair saw Brook home with ten balls to spare.
