Goresbrook ended the group with a 100% 5 from 5 win record with a powerful display against a decent Loughton side. Shane Barwick lost yet another toss and Loughton elected to make use of flat looking track. But 'Brook's superb bowling attack were on fire yet again. Bobby Gaymer making his 100th appearance for the colts only the 14th person to do so in the history of the club bowled superbly again taking 1 for just 3 runs from 4 overs. He was backed up but fellow seamers Ben Irving (1 for 4 from 2 overs) and Liam Addison took 1 for 19 from 4 overs. However it was a day for the spinners also as Callum Shepherd bowled well taking 2 for 11 in his 4 overs and Shane Barwick taking 3 for 5 in his 4 overs as Loughton limped to just 53 for 9 off of their allotted 20 overs. Ben Irving took 3 stumpings after donning the gloves halfway through the innings. What made it all the better was the fact the day before Loughton had beaten the powerful Brentwood in the Essex Cup semi final.
In reply, Ginai fell for 6 with the score on 9, bringing Barwick to join Gaymer and the two cruised to victory getting' Brook home witht exactly 8 overs to spare. Gaymer ended his special day on 16 not out and Barwick 24 not out. Because of the poor weather during this summer, 'Brook now have to wait to see who they meet in the semi-final but it will be either Ilford, Wanstead or Fives.
