Goresbrook 161 for 1 beat Ardleigh Green 32 for 6 on faster run-rate (rain affected)

Goresbrook won the toss and elected to bat in this Havering League clash at the May & Baker Annex ground on Sunday. Shane Barwick opened with Aaron Scott and the pair got off to a fine start adding 37 in 5 overs before Barwick was run out for the second game running. He had scored 30 and struck five 4's. Ben Irving then joined Scott and the pair added 100 runs in 12 overs, before Aaron Scott retired on 50. It was a superb knock, totally chanceless, including 4 boundaries lasting 43 balls. It was Scott’s maiden fifty for the club, in fact his highest score before this game for the colts was just 15. Irving also hit a fine 50, his knock lasted 38 balls and included 6 fours. Jack Stead (13 not out) and Jack Sleight (5 not out) finished off the innings as 'Brook amassed 161 from their 20 overs.

In reply, Jack Sleight took 3 for 6, Ausman Ginai took 2 for 3 from 4 overs and Callum Shepherd 1 for 11 as Green were reeling at 32 for 6 before a monumental thunder storm flooded the ground ending the game prematurely. 'Brook were awarded victory on a faster run rate, maintaining their 100% record in the league so far.
