Goresbrook’s Shane Barwick gave a superb exhibition with the bat before the rains came at the Polo Field Ground on Sunday. The 26 year old left handed opener struck 187 from only 70 balls as he despatched the Stallion’s attack to all corners of the ground. Barwick fashioned 23 fours and 12 maximums, sharing in an opening stand of 233 with skipper Ted Ivory who helped himself to an excellent 47. A three wicket burst from Faisal Shahzad brought scant consolation to the hosts who were pleased to see the heavens open, with the match ultimately being abandoned as a draw.
