Goresbrook’s Sunday Eleven visited league leaders Rose & Crown at the Marathon Sports Ground on Sunday and administered a 95 run drubbing, to leap-frog their opponents at the top of the table.
Danny Gilham (jnr) set the tone from the off with a superb knock 83. The 22 year-old right hander struck 7 fours and a towering maximum, sharing in an opening stand of 70 supported by Shane Barwick who chipped in with 38. Lee Jones (21) and Kane Messenger (14) provided cameos to boost the middle order but excellent spells from Vinod Mandava who returned a nap hand of 5 for 23 and Joe Fisher (4 for 20) bowled the hosts back into the match.

After tea, a first class display in the field saw the Dagenham outfit into the ascendancy. Seamers Pawanpreet Singh (3 for 25) and Ted Ivory (2 for 9) used the new ball to full effect , running through Rose & Crown’s top order. Spinner Rohit Sharma bagged a brace of victims whilst Lee Jones held four sharp catches in the outfield. There were also wickets for Barwick and Gillham and a first Sunday League scalp for teenager Will Preston as ‘Brook eased to a comfortable 95 run success.
