Ilford breaks Brook hearts.
Gorebrook gave an impressive batting and bowling display at Valentines Park on Sunday morning however Ilford's Ardarsh dashed Brook's hopes with a fine individual innings to get the home team home by 1 wicket.
Brook won the toss and batted first. John Nicholls got the innings off to a good start with 22 but teh bulk of Brook's runs came from Arayaman Parida who hit a straight 6 to reach his retirement on 34.
Brook's middle order continued the charge as Ben Atkins hit 15 and Sriraman 21 to get the visitors up to a healthy 136-4.
Ilford's reply was soon up against it as John Nicholls struck 3 times in 8 balls plus affected a run out off the hat trick ball and Jack Gibson grabbed a wicket to leave the home batters on 34-5.
Ansuman Parida struck on debut with the score on 56 but Ilford began their consolidation with skipper Aban and Adarsh scoring strongly. Vajran removed the skipper before Grace Wood entered the attack and struck twice in 2 balls to leave Ilford 113-9.
But Ardarsh batted sensibly to lead Ilford to a 1 wicket win with 5 balls to spare.
