Caspian sees Brook off

Goresbrook's u13's succumbed to a humbling 9 wicket loss to a very strong Loughton team littered with county representatives.
Brook were asked to bat but lost early wickets. Skipper Phil Thoufick hit a brace of boundaries before tickling to the keeper. Freddie Atkins took on the attack with gusto and connected some lusty blows in his 20. Stanley Sleight settled in and was making good progress on 18 but was bowled by a full ball on the leg stump. The rest of the team struggled somewhat against an accurate all seam attack and Brook were bowled out for 72 in the 18th over.
Loughton started slowly with Grace Wood, Liam Elsom and Saad Ali all bowling economical spells. However a run out brought Caspian to the crease and 10 balls and 27 runs later Caspian brought Loughton to the brink of victory, a feat accomplished not long after.
The youngsters did themselves proud but batting out their overs and running between the wickets will need improving before the next game.
