Goresbrook's youngsters finally had their first game of the season and won in a canter against a very inexperienced Romford & GP side. Shane Barwick retired on 50 taking just 29 balls, his knock included 8 fours. He was backed up by Ben Irving who hit a dogged run a ball 53. Jack Stead was the only batsman to be dismissed but he had hit a quickfire 33 including one big 6. Bobby Gaymer hit 11 not out as 'Brook rattled up 182 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Bobby Gaymer recorded his best ever figures clean bowling all of his six victims and taking a superb hatrick. He ended with figures of 6 for 10 from 4 overs. Backing up was Jordan Barwick, the 12 year old bowled beyond his tender years taking 3 for 8 from his 4 overs, as 'Brook crushed the home side bowling them out for a measly 25 runs, a victory margin of 157 runs.
