4s fall to Eastwood

Bev cameo not enough to prevent defeat
Ricci Parnell’s 4th XI lost a low-scoring encounter to Eastwood 3’s on the M&B Annex, as despite a battling 39* from veteran Paul Atkins, the Brook batting line-up never fired in pursuit of a modest 137.
Parnell (2-15), George Sleight (3-28) and very slow round the wicket bowler Matt Jones (3-15) had earlier stymied the Eastwood batting, supported by a fine wicket keeping debut from u15 Tegan Gillham, who has been playing with the Essex Girls Development squad. However although wickets fell continuously, Cameron Hill’s 47 took the Leigh-on-Sea based side to 137 and that proved to be enough as the 4's batting failed to fire until Bev's late flurry, finishing 23 runs short at 114-9 when stumps were pulled.
