A battling batting performance by Goresbrook 3's on a very tired pitch at South Woodford on Saturday was let down by a below par performance with the ball.
A pitch producing very low bounce, anecdotally reported to being on its third use this season, meant Brook's batters had to dig deep to reach a score of 166-9 from 45 overs. Eight double figure contributions showed Brook's depth in the batting department but once again no one was able to go on and make a score that took the game away from South Woodford.
Top scorer was 15 year old Arayaman Parida with 26.
WIth the ball, there were wickets for Leonard Thoufick, Darren Ivory, Mafi Choudhury, Amit Yadav and a brace for Owen Elsom but dropped catches proved costly as home skipper Ravi Rawal benefitted, going on to win the match with a six over long off to lead his side to a four wicket victory.
Next game is away v Wanstead and Snaresbrook 6ths at Fairlop.
