Goresbrook 3's had by far the worst of the conditions on Saturday at the Peter May centre when asked to bat following a very heavy shower right at the start of their innings. Runs were very hard to come by early on as the openers found their footing to be very slippery. Several batters got in but none went on to a big individual score that would have given Brook's bowlers something realistic to bowl at. Goresbrook were largely undone by spinner Simon Thorpe who grabbed 7-28 as they limped to 110 all out from their allotted 42 overs, Andy Livett top scoring with 28.
Pawan Singh got the early breakthrough in Chingford's reply and Bobby Granger grabbed 3 wickets but with the run rate never far from the required 3 runs per hour Chingford moved to a 4 wicket victory with 19 balls to spare.
