The 3's went top of their Division in the early going, Ricci Parnell’s men having another comfortable afternoon as they beat Hornchurch 5s by 8 wickets. 60 from Phil Grundy saw Hornchurch off to a good start, but the wickets were falling at regular intervals at the other end, with the sober seamer Joe Barwick taking 4-17 and skipper Parnell 3-27. New ball specialist Bobby Granger also chipped in with 1-22 and Kernal Kalyan added 2-16 in a competent display from all bowlers used.
Chasing 152, Brook got off to a solid start but after Dave Leadbetter and George Sleight both fell in the 20’s, George Godfrey took charge of proceedings and his unbeaten 74 from 64 balls saw his side home in the 33rd over, Jo Wilkinson sealing a career average boosting unbeaten 20 at the other end on his seasonal bow.
Hutton 5s are the visitors next week with a few changes/opportunities at a higher standard likely as a result of players missing further up the food chain.
