‘Brook’s 3rds found rounds at a premium at May & Bakers Annex Ground on Saturday. Teenagers Abdullah Ahmed who struck a compelling 32 and ‘keeper John Nicholls (jnr) with 13 gave their side an early fillip. Skipper Billy Parnell (13) was the only other home batsmen to register double figures. Ivor Minchin-Berry and Faheed Ahmad with 3 wickets apiece were instrumental in the host’s downfall as ‘Brook crashed to 93 all out.
After the interval the Dagenham side displayed some fighting qualities with spinners Fahad Zafar (3 for 27) and Bobby Granger (3 for 12) reducing ‘Stow to 53 for 7. Shahid Fatmi with an excellent unbeaten 39 and Ian Turnbull (5 not) ensured there were no further hiccups for the visitors as they crossed the winning line with 3 wickets to spare.
