Wanstead Prove Too Strong for Brave Thirds

‘Brook’s 3rd string included several late replacements but put up a fight against a strong Wanstead outfit at Fairlop Oak Playing Fields on Saturday. The hosts gained the upper hand thanks to a superb unbeaten 99 from ‘keeper Nikhil Patel supported by Zaid Patel who clubbed 48. Rahad Hassan and Sheper Choudhury shone with the ball bagging three victims apiece but were unable to restrict the hosts from accumulating a mammoth 247.
After the interval, Sheper Choudhury top scored for the visitors with a battling 31. Hassan added to his bowling exploits with 18 whilst veteran Paul Atkins caught the eye with an undefeated 12 but Wanstead eased home by a wide margin.
