Thirds Back on the Winning Trail

‘Brook’s 3rd string eased to a four wicket victory at the M & B Annex Ground on Saturday. Skipper John Nicholls (jnr) won the toss and invited Belhus to bat first and his side were always in control as teenagers Jack Gibson (3 for 10) and Rahad Hassan (3 for 14) made hay with the new ball. Youngsters Rohaan Khan, Aditya Patel, Will Preston and Ben Atkins also enjoyed success grabbing a wicket apiece. Oliver Davy caught the eye for the visitors with a battling 17 but was unable to prevent them from crashing to 65 all out.
After the interval, Goresbrook’s youngsters were again to the fore as good knocks from Ben Atkins (12), captain Nicholls (13) and a fine unbeaten 16 from Will Preston saw the Dagenham outfit home with four wickets to spare.
