‘Brook’s 3rds slumped to an 89 run reversal at the Old Chigwellians Ground on Saturday. Having won the toss, ‘Brook skipper, Billy Parnell, invited the opposition to bat and after his team secured two early wickets, could only watch on as Yassir Ali Bhatti, who struck a superb 98 and Anand Khandelwal (81) put the game beyond the visitors’ grasp. Parnell and debutant Aditya Patel bagged a brace of victims apiece as ‘Brook’s attack was put to the sword.
After the interval, wickets fell with alarming regularity but the lower order arrested the slide as another debutant Mahfooz Mazunder struck (32), whilst Paul Atkins (24) and Patel (16) supported. The sting in the tail proved to be Fahad Zafar who thrashed 8 fours and a maximum before being left two shy of a half century, however, the Dagenham side were bowled out for 169 incurring an 89 run defeat.
