‘Brook’s 3rd string crashed to a seven wicket defeat at William Edwards School on Saturday. The hosts gained the upper hand sending visiting batsmen back to the pavilion with alarming regularity. It fell to Goresbrook’s last three batsmen, Ricci Parnell (23 not), Fahad Zafar (20) and Rahad Hassan (10) to restore some respectability to Goresbrook’s total lifting them past three figures to close on 110 all out.
After the interval, home ‘keeper Adam Martin struck an excellent 45 before becoming the first of Aryaman Parida’s two victims, effectively putting the match beyond Goresbrook’s grasp. Debutant Rohaan Khan grabbed a consolation wicket before Afra Mohamed and Sam Hiscott, who both finished unbeaten on 19, sealed a 7 wicket victory for Belhus.
