‘Brook’s 3rd string eased to a seven wicket victory at the De Rougemont Ground on Saturday. The visitors always held the upper hand with the ball as a combination of economical bowling and some crisp fielding yielded it’s rewards. Frankie Paisley (21) and Neil Venables (14) were the only home batsmen to record double figures as skipper Billy Parnell and 16 year old Ben Atkins bagged a brace of victims apiece restricting ‘Wood to a paltry 79 all out from 37.3 overs.
After the interval, stalwart Andy Livett led his side’s reply with a solid 42 before being undone by Michael Payne. Daniel Parnell (15 not) and teenager William Preston (12 not) ensured there were no further hiccups for the visitors as they cruised to a 7 wicket success completing a full house of victories for the Club on Saturday.
