Brook onto a winner

Goresbrook 2nd and 3rd elevens mixed the teams for a league season warm up match on the Annexe and produced a game that went down to the last over with Ricci Parnells team emerging victorious.
Arul Gopalasamy's team batted deep with six double figure scores but the pitch kept the bowlers interested in a pretty even contest between bat and ball.
Highlights were the yorker by Sandip Kumar that broke the middle stump in two and a Leonard Thoufick "loosener" that seamed a full foot to remove a well set Asghar Ali. Youngsters Arayaman Parida and SIraj both bowled testing spells.
Ricci Parnell's team were always in the hunt despite losing the prolific Andy Livett for 8 to a fine diving catch at point by George Sleight, however, a fine 50 from Karamat Ali and solid performances from the skipper, Leonard Thoufick and Arayaman won the game with 2 balls to spare.
The game was played in good spirit throughout and it was good to see a new slim line Captain Shan start his 100 laps of the boundary in May campaign.
