Goresbrook captain, Bradley Winsley lost the toss and the hosts took to the field at the M & B Annex Ground on Saturday. Elliot (32) and Kauser (23) got ‘Stow off to an excellent start allowing Pastalas (75) and Gardiner (36) to produce some aggressive strokeplay. Martin Rooke led the attack with 3 for 9 ably backed up by Lee Jones, Jack Sleight and Bradley Winsley who each claimed a brace of victims as the visitors were all out for 216 with one ball of their 45 over complement remaining.
After tea ‘Brook slumped to 41 for 3 but a mature display of resilience from 16 year old Aaron Scott (18) led the recovery. Paul Lowe chipped in with 14 before a destructive 34 from Dunston Alfred injected some energy into the hosts’ reply. Captain Winsley (52) and Martin Rooke (18 not) came together with the Dagenham outfit requiring 76 for victory and careful strokeplay complemented by some fine running saw the pair bring the sides level with one delivery remaining. Elliot brought his troops in to save the single and Winsley’s off drive found the safe hands of Sangar to leave the match tied.
