Goresbrook skipper Martin Rooke won the toss and elected to bat at Aldborough Hatch on Saturday. Dave Leadbeater holed out on 10 and there were excellent knocks from Dunston Alfred (29) and Harry Jackson (25) as the visitors looked to establish a foundation on which to build a competitive total. Ansari proved to be ‘Brook’s nemesis as he produced a remarkable spell of 6 for 10 with the ball, to restrict the visitors to 106 all out.
After tea, Goresbrook’s attack were quickly into the groove and Owen Elsom’s 9 over spell yielded one victim for a miserly 12 runs. Daniel Parnell fired 2 for 16 whilst father Ricky also bagged a scalp as wickets fell with regularity in the early exchanges. Gordon held his nerve with a patient 26 before Myun (17 not) and Le Roy (11 not) saw County through to a 6 wicket victory
