Goresbrook captain, Bradley Winsley won the toss and the visitors took to the field at Church Road on Saturday. Openers Paul French (24) and Charith Rajamantri (23) gave the hosts the ideal fillip before Shaun Ross (1 for 55) struck. Raj Jogia added 37 before the introduction of skipper Winsley (2 for 32) and Joe Barwick (2 for 45) arrested their charge. Atif Ali ripped through Taverners late order returning the excellent analysis of 4 for 23 to restrict the hosts to 229 all out from 43.1 overs.
After tea, Craig Ivey (15) and Atif Ali (10) flattered briefly before Ben Irving (32) and Keith Friend (34) boosted Goresbrook’s run chase. Dublin’s 2 wicket salvo put the brakes on before Winsley (12) and an eye catching 30 from Paul Lowe gave ‘Brook hope of victory but Adam Crane’s 3 wicket burst extinguished Goresbrook’s reply as Hill eased to a 47 run victory.
