The 2's were well beaten by the only club further west than us in the Mid-Essex league, as the Chadwell Heath new ball pair of wily veteran Geoff Hurrell (10-7-5-0) and Garvin Reynolds (10-4-13-5) first tied us down and then demolished a brittle batting lineup.
Only Keith Friend and Stuart Greaves, who dug in for 12 and 14 respectively in an attempt to stop the bleeding following 3 early wickets and Craig Ivey (with a typically forthright 48) made double figures as the evergreen left arm rounder Don Miles also picked up 4-39. Heath skittling us for 105 in 38 overs.
105 was never going to be enough and despite a spirited effort by the seamers and Brad Winsley's off-breaks who kept the battle raging for 30.3 overs, Heath eased home for the loss of 3 wickets to continue their strong start to life in Division Two.
