Two's Beached in Draw at at Leigh

High scoring batsmen were the order of the day in a compelling draw at Chalkwell Park on Saturday. Dean Waller’s superb 98, complemented by Jac Sexton (52) and Jack Royce (42), boosted the Seasiders to a mammoth 283. In the searing heat, Muhammad Imran (3 for 45) and Bobby Granger (2 for 55) produced good spells with the ball before the declaration came.
After tea, George Godfrey initiated the reply before holing out on 21. Skipper Rohit Sharma then led the visitors by example, finding the rope 11 times before departing for a magnificent 94. Karamat Ali provided the perfect foil to his skipper clubbing 8 fours and a towering six in a swashbuckling 69 but ‘Brook ultimately ran out of overs and had to settle for a draw and a share of the spoils.
