Goresbrook’s strong early order put them firmly in the driving seat against West Essex at M & B Sports Ground on Saturday. Openers Juber Rukon (35) and George Godfrey (22) paved the way for skipper Rohit Sharma to fashion a superb unbeaten 85 to set the tone for hosts. Teenager Siraj Zafar continued his excellent form with a swashbuckling 67 whilst ‘keeper Lovelin Mostra got in on the act with a fine undefeated 52 boosting ‘Brook to a mammoth 295 for 4 from their allotted 45 overs.
After tea, Muhammad Imran shone with the ball bagging four victims at a cost of 30 runs. Taylor Wood (33) and Conor Teale (23) flattered briefly with the willow for Town but Bobby Granger wrapped up proceedings with a two wicket salvo to steer the Dagenham side to a handsome 140 run victory.
