Goresbrook’s Second string recorded the first victory of the campaign with an entertaining 48 run success over Woodford Green’s 2nds. Excellent early knocks from Juber Rukon (38), Billy Chapman (20) and captain Rohit Sharma (16) provided the foundation for the home sides innings. Student Siraj Zafar with a superb unbeaten 65 propelled the Dagenham outfits run rate receiving staunch support from Karamat Ali who struck 31 enabling ‘Brook to post 226 for 9 from their 45 over entitlement.
After tea ‘Green set about their target in good fashion but Manish Battan, Karamat Ali and Billy Chapman bagged a brace of victims apiece to apply the brakes as the hosts secured a comfortable 48 run victory.
