Goresbrook’s second string produced another hard hitting batting display as both sides contributed to a highly entertaining game at Buck Lane on Saturday. Openers Juber Rukon (39) and teenager George Godfrey (35) gave ‘Brook the ideal fillip before Skipper Rohit Sharma (26) and Ashgar Ali (34) accelerated the run rate in the middle order. Father and son Ricci and Daniel Parnell struck 17 and 19 not out respectively, combining in a last wicket stand of 42 to boost the visitors to a highly satisfactory 261 all out.
After tea, Karnal Kalyan’s four wicket salvo put Goresbrook in the ascendancy. All rounder Rukon (3 for 62) and Karamat Ali ( 2 for 36) continued the good work with the ball and Sharma wrapped up proceedings to complete a handsome 66 run victory for the Dagenham side.
