Goresbrook’s second string slipped to a six wicket defeat at Harlow Town on Saturday. Their batting, which has been the focal point of the season to date, was ultimately their undoing as Ashgar Ali, Mark Bird and skipper Rohit Sharma all threatened to make big scores before each departed on 22. Dev Madupuri’s excellent haul of 6 for 32 sealed the visitors’ fate with the willow as they slumped to 150 all out.
After tea, Manish Battan and Karnal Kalyan gave the Dagenham side an early fillip with a wicket apiece but George Richardson’s solid 26 settled the hosts’ nerves. Ben Tyne (64 not) and Taylor Wood (22 not) posted an unbroken 5th wicket stand of 48 to lead ‘Town home for a comfortable victory.
