Goresbrook’s 2nd eleven slumped to a 98 run reversal against a strong Bow Green 1st team at The M & B Sports Ground on Saturday. After early successes with the ball for Bobby Gaymer and Daryl Forward, Keith Browne produced a superb display with the willow, finding the rope eight times, on his way to an impressive 70, before becoming the first of 15 year old Billy Smith’s three victims, at a cost of 21 runs. Goldson added 23 for the visitors as Afzal Hussain bagged 2 for 33 and with paceman, Shaun Ross, collecting a late scalp, Green were all out for 151 with 3 balls of their 45 over entitlement remaining. After the tea ‘Brook were soon in trouble as Goldson (4 for 20) and Younge (3 for 9) ripped into the home defences. Billy Chapman (13) was the only Goresbrook batsman to make double figures as the Dagenham outfit crashed to a 98 run reversal.
