A powerful Goresbrook display with the willow saw the 2nds rack up 266 for 7 from their allotted 45 overs. Opener Andy Livett led the way with a superb knock of 72 which included 11 boundaries in 104 minutes at the crease. After the departure of Shane Barwick for 15, sixteen year old Luke Read entered centre stage and fashioned 13 fours on his way to a highly entertaining 72. Skipper Keith Friend added 21 from 23 balls and Billy Chapman continued the visitors misery with a sparkling unbeaten 43. Rabbani and Portman bagged three scalps apiece in difficult conditions for the bowlers.

After the tea, teenagers Daryl Forward sent back four ‘Stow batsmen for 24 from an accurate 9 over spell and Shaun Ross continued the good work with the ball claiming a couple of victims as visitors teetered at 115 for 6. Shaik clubbed eight 4's on his way to an eye catching 56 but ‘Brook’s young attack mopped up the tail as Shane Barwick, Bobby Gaymer, Craig Ivey and Luke Read all picked up a wicket apiece as the hosts completed victory by 72 runs.
