Goresbrook Captain Keith Friend lost the toss and was invited to bat on a drying track at West Ham Park on Saturday afternoon. After the departure of Andy Livett for 14 Shane Barwick batted sensibly top scoring with a confident 55. The 15 year old left hander, occupied the crease for 157 minutes and included 5 boundaries in his superb knock. Teenager Billy Chapman was the only other ‘Brook batsman to make double figures before being run out for 17. Brown was the talisman for the hosts with an excellent return of 5 for 34 whilst Debble caught the eye with 3 for 25 as ‘Brook were bowled out for 128 from 44 overs.
After the tea interval Brown demonstrated his all round qualities when compiling an entertaining 53 with the willow. Coulson supported with 29 whilst there was a brace of wickets apiece for Shaddai Smith, Shane Barwick and Craig Ivey. Daryl Forward bagged a scalp but Bow edged across the line for a three wicket victory.
