Kane is more than Able on 500th Senior Appearance

Skipper Kane Messenger celebrated his 500th appearance for the Club by leading his side to a fourth successive League victory, in the process extending their unbeaten run to seven games. ‘Brook sit fourth in the Division 3 table of twenty teams, with five matches to go in the 2022 campaign.
Harlow Captain, Jake Messenger, won the toss and invited the Dagenham outfit to bat first on a warm afternoon at the May & Bakers Sports Ground on Saturday. Juber Rukon (32), Lee Jones (13) and Jordan Calverley (19) all threatened to get going but the hosts soon found themselves teetering at 87 for 4 thanks largely to the efforts of left arm spinner, Sarfaraz Ahmed (4 for 86). ‘Keeper Jordan Harris and 17 year old Ted Ivory then combined to post a vital fifth wicket partnership of 115 to elevate Goresbrook into the ascendancy. Ivory steeled himself with nine boundaries in a mature knock of 55, his maiden half ton for the first eleven, whilst Harris struck 11 fours and one maximum in a swashbuckling 85. Muhammad Attuallah (35) continued the excellent work with the willow whilst Messenger chipped in with an unbeaten 12 to lift the home side to a challenging 263 for 7 from a maximum entitlement of 50 overs.
After tea, 18 year old, left arm seamer, Pawanpreet Singh, found the outside edge to remove the prolific Ben Yeats for only 8. Fellow opener, Chris Whitworth anchored Harlow’s reply with an intelligent knock of 71 and with support from Abdul Munim (29) and Gull Hassan (27) mounted a platform for the visitors challenge. Two victims apiece for Calverley and Livash Ramduth appeared to arrest the slide for Goresbrook but Tom Garner (37) and Abdullah Farouk (34 not) gave Harlow the upper hand in the middle stage of the visitors run chase.
Aptly it was Messenger who won the day for Goresbrook with a fiery four wicket spell, culminating when clean bowling Ahmed for a duck in the penultimate over to hand the hosts victory by 26 runs.

Goresbrook 1st 263 for 7 in 50 Overs (25 points) beat Harlow 1st 237 all out in 44 Overs (7 points) by 26 runs
